Pre-anesthetic Blood Work
All anesthesia carries some risk. We recommend pre-anesthetic blood work to help
identify underlying problems with kidney function, liver function or other abnormalities,
in order to make anesthesia or surgery safer. We run these tests immediately in
house prior to any anesthesia or medication. There are three levels of blood work
and, depending on the health or age of your pet, the appropriate one will be chosen.
We will not proceed, before contacting you, if there are any significant abnormalities.
It is typically not mandatory but is recommended. |
